Chili's Campaign in the Buckeye State

WPA posterVoters in Ohio's second congressional district have a real choice: the Democrat, Surya "Chili" Yalamanchili, wants to create jobs and is on the side of the workers, while his opponent, incumbent Republican Jean Schmidt, apparently has no policy views whatsoever except unconditional support for the rich. It's a Republican leaning district that in ordinary times could be counted on to grovel before the powers that be, but these aren't ordinary times. Chili has a real chance, and with your help might be able to pull off a surprise upset. Total runtime an hour and six minutes. If you can, please donate to Chili's campaign and/or volunteer!

Great questions George but I think this interview proves why speaking with candidates is a waste of time. Chili has clearly thought long and hard about how to get elected and he played the part well enough. He had no inspiring or original ideas, nothing that wouldn't be picked up by a mainstream paper, and what he lacked in principles he filled with broken-record nationalism. This is the only podcast I had to skip to final comments on. Once again no fault of yours, George but I give Chili a big: *yawn*

Agree with Mike. This guy can only sputter in the face of your "raise taxes on the rich" question and then refers to that question — the absolute heart of the matter in the face of worldwide class war, the Revolution of the Rich as Chris Floyd calls it — as a "wedge issue"????

Get lost, Chili!

[Jeez, Eddie, can't you please cut the guy some slack? He's trying. g.]
