Bosnia Redux

Sarajevo — crop from an old postcardIn early August, 1992, the Serbs decisively and permanently lost (.doc) the propaganda war-within-a-war in the violent disintegration of the former Yugoslavia. Almost two decades later, conventional wisdom continues to blame the Serbs for everything wrong in the Balkans. But there is a legitimate, thoughtful, contrary view. I've taken it. So have many others, including people who were in senior positions in the U.S. government (and in other governments) at the time and, indeed, up through the present. Why this perspective doesn't get more attention remains an elusive question. In any case, Dr. Steven E. Meyer was formerly at the CIA and during the 1990s Deputy Director of the Interagency Balkan Task Force. He's now at the National Defense University. It was a real pleasure to talk with Steven and I hope we manage to convey a sense of place, events, and personality. Total runtime an hour and twenty minutes. Enjoy!
