The Right To Vote
Most people figure the Constitution gives us the right to vote. They would be wrong. As Garrett Epps tells us, not only does the Constitution not define a right to vote, but for that very reason Supreme Court decisions talk about "the right to vote" in quotation marks. Which leads, naturally, to the question of what else we're assuming is there, in fact, isn't? In short, the Constitution is a seriously incomplete blueprint — our job is to make sense of it and, where necessary, build on it. Nothing less will do. Some thought required. Total runtime here an hour and nine minutes. Enjoy!
