Post Apocalypsis

Robert Shetterly coverSupposing it were the end of the world, the revelation due should be tapping, tapping at the door (to mix literary metaphors). And if you think about it, that makes perfect sense. Our political system doesn't work well anymore, if at all, but perhaps we're not really doomed since we're capable of thinking up something new. At least, that's the message I take from the artist Robert Shetterly's project, Americans Who Tell The Truth. Robert is pursuing a unique kind of grass-roots progressive activism that mixes art, education, and politics. If you step back and think about it from the broader perspective it's a trivial thing to change parties when what we're struggling with is how society might see the world differently. That's the real challenge, the hard work that must be done. It was an honor and a pleasure to talk with Robert and I'm grateful for his taking the time. One hour and five minutes. Enjoy!
