Public Service Podcast
On Thursday, September 20, a collection of anti-war groups sponsored a colloquium (PDF) at American University. Ten speakers — actually, eleven, because one wasn't on the program — delivered their perspectives, leading up to the presentation of the Sam Adams Associates Corner-Brightener Candlestick award to Sam Provance, a U.S. Army intelligence analyst who had been assigned to Abu Ghraib but followed his conscience and became a whistle-blower. The proceedings ran to three hours, all extremely interesting, but unfortunately too long for a public service podcast. In abridging the event I eventually decided to whittle it down to just one speaker, with my apologies to the other ten. Here, Ray McGovern introduces the legendary Daniel Ellsberg, who tells us about the big picture. Total runtime twenty eight minutes. Enjoy!
