Dave of Al Jazeera
It's a pity that the Al Jazeera English service, for all intents and purposes, isn't available in the US cable market. Due, no doubt, to US government pressure — however maladroitly applied. Nonetheless, to those for whom it is available internationally Al Jazeera provides a vital corrective to sanitized American infotainment productions, particularly regarding reporting about the US. A diplomatic reminder that things are usually more complicated than the standard packaged narratives. For a sense of the thinking of one of Al Jazeera's Washington anchors I talk here with my friend Dave Marash. He's a great guy, an original thinker, and always a pleasure to be around. Total runtime an hour and five minutes. Enjoy!

Nice interview. I watch Al Jazeera on the web several times a week and value their no-nonsense and in-depth reports. I recently read an interview with Josh Rushing, another American who works for Al Jazeera. It was good to learn something about Dave Marash and his perspective on news as well. I hope they can significantly penetrate the US market. There certainly is a need.
