Clean Water: A Basic Human Right
I always think it's fascinating to talk with people working on the front lines to make our planet a better place to live—or liveable at all. Karin Krchnak is the international water expert at The Nature Conservancy (with over four billion dollars in assets it is, I believe, the largest environmental organization in the US). She knows, as well as anybody, what the problems are and where we should look for solutions, though she's pretty realistic about what to expect. And she's easy to talk with. I very much enjoyed this conversation and I hope you do too. Total runtime of an hour and four minutes.

I look forward to the podcast about men in gorilla suits.

Also more about water would be good, preferably from an environmental scientist next time.

Karin cannot currently see the wood for the trees. She is broadly knowledgeable but not soundly based, I think most likely because she trained as a lawyer rather than a biologist. From her final comments about her desire to investigate the relationship between water and energy, she does seem to be on the right track. I expect she will break out of her BAU paradigm in a few years time, as the real limits become blindingly obvious to everybody.
