An Independent Mind
A few people (sometimes it seems like a small minority) have a temperament that looks first to facts to draw conclusions, not to preconceptions. Dr. Paul Craig Roberts epitomizes such a mind, expressing it in the rarest fashion, as a genuine, prolific polymath. Yet, paradoxically, I suspect that Dr. Roberts' common-sense observations will be shared by a large number of people, perhaps even – if I can lift the phrase – a silent majority.
Dr. Roberts is a Research Fellow at the Independent Institute. His bio is too long and distinguished to summarize adequately here. Suffice to say he has gained national recognition over several decades as a journalist, a policymaker, and a scholar. These days his articles are re-distributed widely across many sites on the net. Hearing him speak to the issues is, at least for me, a riveting experience. This podcast is long, at an hour and a half. Enjoy!
