Damn His Eyes
Chris Hitchens was a user, of people. I kept his last message to me on my answering machine for I don't know how long, but eventually erased it out of dismay regarding his militancy toward the former Yugoslavia. I could say more, but I think Sam Smith says it much better than I could ever do.

Thanks. Excellent post/link! I recently started reading CH at the urging of my grandson (who is a fan). Just yesterday I read C.H.'s rant about the lack of humor in women after said grandson's brag about how funny it was. I'm afraid my comment to him that I didn't find it very funny at all cost me some points. And I suspect that sending him the link to Sam Smith's comments will further lower my point level. Oh well. So much for untarnished heroes.
