Obama's Glass Jaw
The man doesn't have fight in him. This latest ad making him out to be a pedophile. Well, there's not a whole lot to say about it except that Americans hate to see a person who's capable of standing up for themselves cave in to a bully. Obama never engaged in a serious tussle with Hillary — it was all rope-a-dope and rise above the fray. Looking further back, he's never had a fight with a serious Republican opponent in his whole political life. (A Democrat, yes, in Rep. Bobby Rush over the first district in Illinois, where he got whipped.) Did he ever really fight for anything while in the U.S. Senate? If he did, not so as anybody knows about it. Ditto the Illinois legislature, where he earned a reputation as a consensus builder. It's not that he's a bad guy, it's just that if McCain beats his brains out while he doesn't fight back the public will turn on him. His current electoral college advantage notwithstanding, once McCain has built up some momentum Obama will go down for the count. Charles Atlas, where are you when we need you? Ouch!

If you can picture a black person in the cartoon punching back at the bully, you'll see why, aside from whether it is in his nature, Obama can not afford to be angry, out of control, or combative. The better question is where are the surrogates, supporters and fellow democrats when they should be taking up the fight?

I don't think that the problem is that Obama isn't tough-looking or vociferous. The problem is that he and most Democrats don't really believe in anything, and it shows. He was antiwar and anti-NAFTA during the primary, then he brazenly and insolently did a U-turn as soon as he was nominated, thus insulting the base who made him something out of nothing. He clearly wants to please Joe Biden's bipartisan imperial establishment, as well as AIPAC and Wall Street. With this mindset, how can he be anything other than GOP-lite? And if he is GOP-lite, the public will know it and prefer the real thing.
If Obama truly believed any progressive ideology, and if he simply repeated a substantive message in a calm voice, I think he might win. People do want health care and don't want war. But he chose to be a fraud, thinking that vapid and inane rhetoric would let him get away with it, and now his phoniness is causing him to implode. He deserves it. Screw him, and I refuse to vote for the lesser of evils, especially since he started tying to outhawk McCain with his rhetoric. This has nothing to do with being black or 'cosmopolitan' and everything to do with being a fraud.

If Obama had the integrity I just described, the slime would just slide off of him. That's how Reagan became a 'Teflon' politician — by actually standing for something.
[Ed. Well, he was a good actor, too.]
