2008 Annual Podcast Awards Competition Now Open: Please Vote!
The 2008 Podcast Awards competition is now open. Please VOTE! Last year EP was one among ten finalists in the political category, along with the Democracy Now podcast and the Slate podcast (none of us won). It would be great to be a finalist again this year, maybe even win the category! All it will take is a little bit of your time, so please help!
The competition works in a three stage process. In the first stage, for nominations, you vote one time for a ticket of your favorite podcasts. Your one vote can include your favorite podcast within each subject category listed (you can't put the same podcast in two different subject categories), plus the "people's choice" and "best produced" categories (where you can put one of your choices from the subject categories). It's a bit complicated, so if you have questions, see the rules. The main thing for EP listeners to know is to vote for EP in the political category with your one vote. Voting in the first stage closes on September 30.
In the second stage the competition's judges determine the finalists. The Podcast Award competition will announce finalists in each category approximately fifteen days after the first stage voting has closed.
The third stage is perhaps the most complicated and most demanding for podcast fans. Each voter is allowed one vote per podcast per category per day over a fifteen day period. Multiple votes add up quickly and this is where audience participation really counts.
So, please, take a moment to vote for EP in the first round and let's hope we make it into the finals. Thanks very much for your help!
