Obama/Edwards
Edwards gave a brilliant speech. Obama looked like he was enjoying himself again. It would be a dream ticket. At any rate, the odds of the primaries ending soon now appear to be excellent. And thank God, too — don't let naysayers tell you there's not a dime's worth of difference between Obama and McCain!

Yes, let's hope it's over. There's a lot of hoopla in the media about Obama's "problem" with working class (aka White) voters and how Edwards could help there.
What would help is better information. There can be absolutely no question in any sane person's mind that an Obama administration would be better for working class people than a McCain administration, assuming they have adequate factual information about both candidates. That is a rather big assumption, unfortunately.

I don't think prejudiced working-class whites alone can sink Obama. Nor a hawkish Israel lobby that is uncomfortable with his ounce of sympathy for Palestinians. But the two together? Maybe Hillary is right about electability after all. But I would still rather vote for a losing Obama than a winning Hillary.

[I'm not an American, so I don' really have a horse in this race... but] That Obama will be the Democratic nominee is a certainty. Yesterday's response to the Bush/McCain "appeaser" nonsense was refreshing, even if it didn't go far enough — not to worry, there's plenty of time yet.
What's worrying is the level of vitriol coming from a number of Clinton backers.
Johnson's appeared on EP (at least in passing) and this is not a smear on George and his excellent work, but Larry's crossed the line recently. His work on the Plame case was/is commendable, but this kind of thing is absolutely insane:

I believe they represent small, less than the margin-of-error proportion of Senator Clinton's base, but the fact that otherwise (seemingly) intelligent people can push these memes is reprehensible... isn't this precisely the kind of tribalism the Democrats are seeking to defeat this fall?
Casts the Altemeyer/Milgram podcast in a whole new light, at least for me.

I've had my eye on what Larry Johnson has been saying, too, and it does worry me. What to ascribe it to?! I think in Larry's case it's probably loyalty to Valerie, who in turn is loyal to Joe, who [perhaps] for his part was expecting some kind of payoff from Hillary for his support. I know, I'm cynical...
